1 dead, 2 hospitalized following car vs. tree crash in north Fort Worth

FORT WORTH, TX – Authorities were called to a major collision early Sunday, November 17, in north Fort Worth that claimed the life of one person and left two people injured, according to Star-Telegram.

The fatal crash took place in the 3800 block of Decatur Avenue, in the city’s Diamond Hill neighborhood. Officers with the Fort Worth Police Department’s northwest division arrived in the area shortly after 2:30 a.m.

At this time, the events leading up to the wreck have not been specified, but one person was pronounced deceased at the crash site after a vehicle slammed into a tree. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office was working to notify the decedent’s next of kin.

Two other people who suffered serious injuries were transported to a local hospital.

The police department’s Traffic Investigations Unit is handling the case. At the time of Star-Telegram’s report, the cause of the accident had not been determined.
