2-vehicle crash involving semi on Hwy 180 near MM 544 kills 1

PARKER COUNTY, TX – One person died, and another sustained injuries Wednesday in a two-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck in Parker County, reports WFAA News 8.

The accident happened shortly before 7:15 a.m. on the eastbound side of Highway 180 near mile marker 544.

Police say that a car carrying two people rear-ended an 18-wheeler on the highway.

Medics transported the driver of the car, identified as Phillip Whitton, to an area hospital with unspecified injuries.

A passenger in the car, identified as 34-year-old Stephanie Whitton, died at the scene.

A full investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident.
