2-vehicle crash involving semi on TX-21 near Cottonwood kills 1

MADISON CO., TX – A 25-year-old Leona man died Friday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck along the highway in central Madison County, reports KBTX 3.

The accident happened shortly before 4:30 p.m. on TX-21 near Oxford Cemetery Road. This is just west of Cottonwood.

Police say that an eastbound Ford F350 rear-ended an eastbound 18-wheeler when the driver of the pickup truck failed to decelerate for slowed traffic in a construction zone.

The driver of the Ford, identified as Douglas Hancock Jr., died at the scene.

The truck driver did not require hospitalization.

A full investigation is underway.
