Motorcyclist killed in 2-vehicle crash at Lisa Diane and Socorro

SOCORRO, TX – A 65-year-old man died last Sunday in a crash involving a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle in the southeastern suburbs of El Paso, reports KFOX 14.

The accident happened in the afternoon at the intersection of Lisa Diane Road and Socorro Road, which is just northwest of Centro Nueva Vida El Paso Campus in Socorro.

Police say that a light blue 2003 Harley Davidson motorcycle collided with a maroon 2008 Mazda MA5 minivan carrying four people when the motorcyclist attempted to turn from Lisa Diane onto Socorro.

The motorcyclist, identified as Jose Guillermo Gamero, died at the scene of the accident. Officials say that Gamero was not wearing a safety helmet at the time of the crash.

None of the occupants of the minivan were hurt in the wreck.

A full investigation is underway.
