Jacob Rhodes killed in crash with CMV on I-10WB near MM 809

WALLISVILLE, TX – A 37-year-old man sustained fatal injuries in a two-vehicle collision along the interstate in Wallisville on Thanksgiving Day, reports msn.

The accident happened shortly before 7:20 a.m. near mile marker 809 on the westbound side of I-10. This is just east of the Trinity River and Trinity River Waterbird Rookery.

Police say that the driver of a westbound 2012 Mazda sedan died at the scene after rear-ending a commercial motor vehicle along the interstate. The victim, identified as Jacob Rhodes, was likely speeding at the time of the crash and neglected to slow for stopped traffic.

Authorities say that traffic was halted along I-10 as crews responded to an earlier accident near mile marker 805.

No other injuries have been referenced in connection to the wreck.

A full investigation is underway.
