Pedestrian struck, killed on South Central Expy near Youngblood
DALLAS, TX – One person sustained fatal injuries Saturday when a vehicle struck them along the expressway in southeast Dallas, reports WFAA News 8.
The incident occurred shortly before 11:15 p.m. in on the southbound side of the South Central Expressway near Youngblood Road. This is between Simpson Stuart Road and I-20.
Police haven’t yet identified the victim, who they say was walking in the left southbound lane of the expressway when they were hit. It’s unclear why the pedestrian was walking on the highway.
The driver involved in the accident did stop to render aid and speak with authorities.
Motorists likely experienced delays along the expressway Saturday night while crews worked to clear the scene.
