Cora Estep, 71, killed in head-on crash along FM 730 in Azle

AZLE, TX – A wrong-way crash along FM 730 in northeast Parker County fatally killed one person and injured two others last Sunday, reports WFAA News 8.

Just before 4 p.m., emergency teams responded to the stretch of roadway between Bailey Drive and Clayton Road on the southwest side of Azle.

Police say that a southbound vehicle entered the northbound side of FM 730 and collided head-on with a northbound vehicle carrying three people.

The wrong-way driver, identified as 21-year-old Daniel Rascon, was allegedly intoxicated at the time of the collision.

Medics transported all three occupants of the northbound vehicle to an area hospital. One of the passengers, identified as 71-year-old Cora Estep, died shortly thereafter. The driver and another passenger from the northbound vehicle sustained serious injuries.

Authorities arrested Rascon on charges that include intoxication manslaughter.

A full investigation is underway.
