Regina Reyes, 62, fatally injured in 2-car crash in southeast Austin

AUSTIN, TX – A woman sustained fatal injuries last Monday evening in a two-vehicle collision in the Montopolis area of southeast Austin, reports CBS Austin.

The accident happened shortly after 6 p.m. at the intersection of East Riverside Drive and Clubview Avenue, which is just east of Baty Elementary School and south of the Ruiz Branch of the Austin Public Library.

Police haven’t yet disclosed any details regarding the cause or circumstances of the crash. At this time, they are actively soliciting the public for tips or information about what might have happened.

Medics transported a passenger from one of the vehicles to an area hospital, where she died shortly thereafter. Authorities identified the victim as 62-year-old Regina Natalie Reyes.

No other injuries have been referenced in connection to the collision.

At this time, officials do not suspect either driver of intoxication at the time of the crash.

A full investigation is underway.
