Jahlil Kirkland, Kiara Valdez named as victims in Arlington crash
ARLINGTON, TX – Arlington Police have identified the victims of a hit-and-run collision that happened this past Sunday near Six Flags, reports NBC DFW 5.
Authorities say that 33-year-old Nathan Vaughan struck two pedestrians with his Chevy Malibu near the intersection of East Lamar Boulevard and Corporate Drive. Vaughan then fled the scene without stopping to render aid.
The two pedestrians, since identified as 22-year-old Jahlil Royale Kirkland and 23-year-old Kiara Nicole Valdez, died at the scene of the accident.
Police say that Kirkland and Valdez were walking on the sidewalk along East Lamar when the Chevy Malibu hit them from behind.
Officials found the vehicle and the driver involved in the crash on Tuesday at a house in Grand Prairie. Vaughan was arrested on multiple charges, including collision involving death.
The investigation is ongoing.
