Dallas crash caused by drunk driver kills Sara Gonzalez, 23

DALLAS, TX – A 23-year-old woman died Sunday in a single-vehicle crash caused by an intoxicated driver in northeast Dallas, reports Fox 4 KDFW.

Emergency teams responded to East Northwest Highway near White Rock Lake shortly before 3 a.m. Officials have not yet provided a cross street for the accident.

Police say that a 23-year-old driver was drunk when she lost control of her vehicle and crashed along the highway. A passenger in the vehicle, identified as Sara Gonzalez, died at the scene of the accident.

The driver, identified as Alyssa Rodriguez, will face intoxication manslaughter charges upon release from the hospital. Authorities say Rodriguez sustained minor injuries.
