Police chase on I-35E at Red Oak ends in fatal crash

RED OAK, TX – One person died, and two others sustained injuries Thursday when a Dallas police chase ended with a crash in Red Oak, reports KWTX 10.

The collision occurred on the southbound side of I-35E at Red Oak Road, which is about 18 miles south of Dallas.

Authorities say they chased an alleged murder suspect along the interstate from Dallas to Red Oak. The suspect ultimately lost control of his vehicle and collided with an SUV.

One of the occupants of the SUV sustained fatal injuries. That victim has not yet been identified. Another person from the SUV went to the hospital with unknown injuries.

Dallas police shot the murder suspect when he exited his vehicle following the crash and refused to drop his gun. The suspect required hospitalization. The extent of his injuries is unclear.

A full investigation is underway.
