Misty Shaw, 59, claimed in wrong-way crash at 19th and Milwaukee
LUBBOCK, TX – A 59-year-old woman died Thursday in a three-vehicle collision at a busy intersection on the far west side of Lubbock, reports KCBD 11 News.
The accident happened on 19th Street near Milwaukee Avenue, which is west of Loop 289 and southwest of Alex and Verna Cooke Park.
Police say that for unknown reasons, an eastbound vehicle entered the westbound side of 19th Street and collided with two westbound vehicles.
The wrong-way driver, identified as Misty Shaw, died at the scene of the crash.
Medics transported a passenger from the wrong-way vehicle to an area hospital with serious injuries.
A driver and two passengers from one of the other vehicles also required hospitalization with serious injuries.
A full investigation is underway.
