Dolores Acevedo, 92, killed in crash at 23rd and Dicker

MCALLEN, TX – A two-vehicle accident on the south side of McAllen killed an elderly woman Sunday morning, reports ValleyCentral 4.

The crash occurred shortly before 10 a.m. at the intersection of South 23rd Street and Dicker Road, which is just northwest of Payne Arena and not far from border with Mexico.

Police haven’t shared any details about how the wreck happened. They say that a Honda CRV and a Toyota RAV4 collided in the intersection, causing one of the vehicles to roll onto its side.

A passenger from one of the cars, identified as 92-year-old Dolores Acevedo, died at the scene.

Medics transported the two drivers to an area hospital, one with serious injuries.

A full investigation is underway.
