Jonny Fowler, 63, killed in hit-and-run in SE San Jacinto Co.
SHEPHERD, TX – A 63-year-old man died Saturday in a crash involving a riding lawn mower and a sedan in southeastern San Jacinto County, reports East Texas News.
The accident happened on the southbound side of FM 3460 in the city of Shepherd. This is about an hour northeast of Houston.
Police say that a southbound 2001 Cadillac sedan struck a southbound riding lawn mower. The latter vehicle was towing a trailer at the time of the collision.
The driver of the lawnmower, identified as Jonny Fowler, died at the scene of the wreck.
The driver of the Cadillac, identified as 54-year-old Michael Davis, fled the scene without rendering aid. Authorities located Davis shortly thereafter and arrested him on a felony charge of hit-and-run in an accident causing injury or death.
