Michael Alaniz fatally injured in N Edinburg rollover crash
HIDALGO CO., TX – A 49-year-old man sustained fatal injuries in a single-vehicle crash that occurred Sunday night in east-central Hidalgo County, reports ValleyCentral 4.
Emergency teams responded to the northbound side of Jesus Flores Road just north of Valdez Road. This is just west of Monte Alto and about 30 miles northeast of McAllen.
Police say that Michael Alaniz of Edcouch was speeding when he lost control of his 2006 Ford F-150 and left the roadway. The pickup truck overturned multiple times into a ditch alongside Jesus Flores Road.
Medics transported the driver to an area hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities say Alaniz was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
A full investigation is underway.
