Anaihi Carcamo, 21, dies following crash involving DUI suspect in San Antonio
SAN ANTONIO, TX – A 21-year-old woman lost her life last Sunday morning, February 10, after a two-vehicle collision on Interstate 10 in northwest San Antonio, reports KSAT.
The fatal accident unfolded in the 5500 block of the highway, near West Avenue, at around 5:48 a.m.
According to the San Antonio Police Department, a 34-year-old man was operating an SUV westbound on eastbound I-10 when his vehicle struck the victim’s vehicle.
The victim, identified as Anaihi Carcamo, 21, was pronounced deceased at the scene by first responders.
The wrong-way driver, identified as Jersson Rios, was found to have been impaired at the time of the wreck. He was transported to an area hospital with unspecified injuries.
Officials say the suspect is expected to be charged with intoxication manslaughter.
