Thomas Vasquez, 47, killed in Cameron Co. 3-car collision

SAN BENITO, TX – A 47-year-old man died last Thursday in a multi-vehicle crash along a major roadway in the southern outskirts of San Benito, reports myRGV.com.

The accident happened around 8 p.m. on FM 732 just south of Pennsylvania Avenue. This is just northwest of Lago.

Police say that for unknown reasons, a southbound Dodge Charger entered the northbound side of FM 732 and collided head-on with both a northbound Chevy Colorado and a Dodge Ram.

Medics transported the two occupants of the Dodge Ram to an area hospital with unknown injuries.

Authorities declared the driver of the Chevy, identified as Tomas Vasquez of Brownsville, deceased at the scene.

It’s unclear if the driver of the Charger sustained injuries.

No charges have been announced at this time.

A full investigation is underway.
