Destiny Wright, 6, claimed in N Dallas hit-and-run crash

DALLAS, TX – A six-year-old girl sustained fatal injures Sunday night when a vehicle struck her along a busy roadway in north-central Dallas, reports WFAA News 8.

The incident occurred shortly before 10:30 p.m. on Belt Line Road near the intersection with Preston Road. This is just southeast of the The Clubs of Prestonwood Country Club.

Police say that the driver of a white Acura MDX fled the scene after hitting a little girl on Belt Line Road. The driver did not stop to render aid.

The child, identified as Destiny Wright, died after transport to an area hospital.

Authorities located and arrested the hit-and-run driver, who has since been identified as 67-year-old David Polley.

Polley faces charges that include leaving the scene of a fatal accident and collision involving death.
