Eric Guerrero, 18, killed in 2-car crash in NE Dallas Co.

GARLAND, TX – An 18-year-old man died last Friday night in a two-vehicle collision at a busy intersection in the northeast suburbs of Dallas, reports WFAA News 8.

The accident happened shortly before 10:30 p.m. at the intersection of TX-78 southbound, or South Garland Avenue, and Stratford Drive in the city of Garland.

Police say that a southbound vehicle with three occupants collided with an eastbound vehicle entering TX-78 from Stratford Drive.

The impact of the crash ejected an occupant from one of the vehicles. That person, later identified as Eric Lopez Guerrero, sustained fatal injuries.

Medics transported all five additional occupants to an area hospital with unknown injuries.

Authorities say that alcohol may have been a factor in the wreck, but the investigation is ongoing.
