Bellamy Kemp injured in car vs. bike hit-and-run near Rice
HOUSTON, TX – A cyclist went to the hospital last Tuesday when a vehicle struck him along a major roadway in the West University area, reports abc 13 News.
The collision occurred sometime in the afternoon along University Boulevard near Wakeforest Avenue. This is south of I-69 and just west of Rice Village.
Authorities say that a male cyclist, later identified as Bellamy Kemp, was ejected from his bike when a red Ford pickup truck hit him from behind. The truck then fled the scene without stopping to render aid to the victim.
Kemp’s injuries include a broken collarbone, a lip laceration, and multiple cuts and bruises to his body.
Police later identified the elderly driver of the pickup truck. It is unclear if he will face charges in connection to the crash.
A full investigation is underway.
