Philip Toomes, 75, claimed in 3-vehicle crash on Wetmore Rd
SAN ANTONIO, TX – A 75-year-old motorcyclist died Tuesday morning in major accident near the airport in San Antonio, reports KSAT 12 News.
Shortly before 6 a.m., emergency teams were called to the area of 11000 Wetmore Road at the far northeast corner of San Antonio International Airport.
Police say that a motorcyclist collided with the side of a pickup truck as the driver of the latter vehicle was backing out of a parking space. This initial crash ejected the rider, who was then struck by an SUV.
The motorcycle operator, identified as Philip Toomes, died at the scene of the accident.
Both the driver of the pickup and the driver of the SUV stopped to render aid and speak with officials.
Authorities have not referenced any additional injuries linked to the incident.
A full investigation is underway.
