Andriana Garza, 52, killed in 2-vehicle crash near Alice

JIM WELLS CO., TX – A woman died, and three people sustained injuries Friday in a fiery accident in central Jim Wells County, reports KRIS 6 News.

The collision occurred sometime before 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of West Highway 44 and FM 2507 on the western outskirts of Alice. This is about 50 miles southwest of Corpus Christi.

Police say that a 2021 Hyundai Elantra and a 2023 Jeep Commander collided when the driver of the Elantra failed to yield the right of way. The impact of the crash caused the Jeep to overturn and the Elantra to ignite.

Medics airlifted the driver of the Elantra to a hospital in Corpus with critical injuries.

The two occupants of the Jeep went to the hospital with injuries of unknown severity.
