Juan Vasquez, Nicholas Gonzalez killed in wrong-way collision

GARDENDALE, TX – A wrong-way crash claimed the lives of two men Saturday night in northeast Ector County, reports KLTV 7 News.

The accident happened shortly after 11:30 p.m. at East Goldenrod Drive and North Alfalfa Drive in the city of Gardendale. This is 20 miles west of Midland.

Police say that for unknown reasons, a westbound Chevrolet Silverado and an eastbound Dodge Ram truck collided head on, killing both drivers at the scene.

Authorities identified the victims as 42-year-old Juan Jesus Vasquez and 34-year-old Nicholas Matthew Gonzalez.

Drivers likely experienced delays in the area of the crash while emergency teams worked at the scene.

A full investigation is underway.
