Eduardo Rodriguez, 63, killed in 3-vehicle crash in Laredo

LAREDO, TX – A man died, and two people sustained injuries Wednesday afternoon in a collision involving two semis and an SUV in west-central Webb County.

According to KGNS, the accident occurred around 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of Mines Road and Camino Colombia Road, which is just east of the Texas border with Mexico.

Police say that a black 18-wheeler struck a 2005 white Ford Excursion when the driver of the latter vehicle failed to heed a stop sign at the intersection. This initial collision caused the SUV to overturn and crash into a second semi-truck.

The driver of the SUV, identified as 63-year-old Eduardo Rodriguez, died at the scene of the wreck.

Medics transported a passenger from the SUV and the driver of the black semi to an area hospital with injuries of unknown severity.

A full investigation is underway.
