Joshua Freed, 37, hurt in bike crash near 34th and Ave G

LUBBOCK, TX – A 37-year-old cyclist sustained injuries last Wednesday when a vehicle struck him along a busy roadway in central Lubbock, reports everythingLubbock.

The accident happened shortly after 8 a.m. on 34th Street near Avenue G. This is east of I-27 in the Harwell neighborhood.

Police say that a box truck hit the cyclist while changing lanes on the westbound side of 34th Street.

Medics transported the bicyclist, identified as Joshua Freed, to an area hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the box truck, identified as 70-year-old Gilbert Harper, was not hurt in the wreck.

No charges have been announced thus far.

A full investigation is underway.
