Police chase ends in crash that kills Jesus Silva, Matthew Reyes
TOM GREEN CO., TX – Two men died, and a third was hurt last Friday when a high-speed police chase ended in a crash along the highway in central Tom Green County.
According to SanAngeloLive, the incident happened shortly before 10 p.m. on TX-87 near Wall. This is just southwest of San Angelo and about three hours northwest of Austin.
San Angelo Police say they attempted to stop a white 2022 Dodge Challenger when they observed the vehicle engaging in a street race along TX-87. The driver of the Dodge evaded police at high speed and ultimately lost control of the vehicle near the intersection with Wilde Road.
The Dodge overturned after striking a guardrail. The force of the crash threw the driver and two occupants from the vehicle.
Medics transported the driver, identified as 19-year-old Jeydan Zane Sanchez-Ayala, to an area hospital with serious injuries.
Two passengers, identified as 18-year-old Jesus Manuel Silva and 20-year-old Matthew Allen Reyes, died at the scene of the wreck.
There’s no word yet regarding charges.
