Zachery Taylor, 16 others hurt in Fort Worth motorcycle crash
FORT WORTH, TX – A chain-reaction motorcycle collision injured 17 people last Friday night in north-central Fort Worth, reports NBC DFW 5 and EMS1.
The accident happened shortly after 8:30 p.m. in the southbound express lanes of I-35 near Heritage Trace Parkway. This is near Alliance Town Center and Bluestem Park.
The investigation thus far indicates that a large group of motorcycles were riding together in a pack when a tire on one of the bikes malfunctioned. This caused a chain reaction crash that ultimately involved at least 15 motorcycles.
Medics transported ten riders in either serious or critical condition to area hospitals. Seven others sustained minor injuries; it’s unclear how many of them required hospitalization.
One of the riders, identified as Zachery Taylor, sustained fractures to his jaw, back, and collarbone. While Taylor has been discharged from the hospital, he expects a difficult recovery process.
No charges have been filed thus far in connection to the event.
The investigation is ongoing.
