Bonifacio Chavez, 53, claimed in El Paso County rollover
EL PASO, TX – A 53-year-old man sustained fatal injuries early Saturday in a single-vehicle collision in southeast El Paso, reports El Paso Times.
The accident happened around 1:30 a.m. near the intersection of Ascension Street and Perlite Driver, which is east of I-10 and on the northwest side of the Ascension Park Estates Colonia.
Police say Bonifacio Chavez of Socorro was unrestrained, speeding, and possibly impaired when he lost control of his southbound pickup truck and left Ascension Street. The vehicle overturned, seriously injuring the driver.
Chavez died after transport to an area hospital from injuries sustained in the rollover crash.
There were no other passengers in the truck at the time of the accident.
A full investigation is underway.
