Quantera Owens, 2 others injured in wrong-way collision
TRINITY CO., TX – Three adults sustained injuries Sunday evening in a head-on crash along the highway in southwestern Trinity County, reports East Texas News.
The accident happened shortly before 6 p.m. along TX-94 to the northeast of Trinity. This is about 88 miles north of Houston.
Police say that a southbound 2010 Chevrolet Equinox driven by 24-year-old Taylor Roby veered onto the northbound side of TX-94 and collided head-on with a northbound 2010 Toyota Prius.
Medics transported the driver of the Toyota and two passengers to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The patients have been identified as 25-year-old Quantera Owens, 29-year-old Telisa Johnson, and 24-year-old Christian Williams.
The driver of the Chevy was unhurt in the collision. A preliminary investigation indicates that he was likely distracted while driving. It’s unclear if Roby will face charges in connection to the accident.
A full investigation is underway.
