Trania Jackson, 28, killed in 3-vehicle crash on the DNT
DALLAS, TX – A woman died, and five others sustained injuries in a wrong-way collision along the Dallas North Tollway Monday morning, reports CBS News.
The head-on accident occurred shortly before 1:30 a.m. on the southbound side of the DNT near Royal Lane. This is on the north side of the city, near Russwood Acres.
Police say that for unknown reasons, a northbound 2017 Nissan Altima entered the southbound side of the tollway and struck the side of an 18-wheeler before crashing head-on into a southbound 2016 Nissan Altima.
A passenger in the 2016 Altima, since identified as 28-year-old Trania Jackson of Cedar Hill, succumbed to her injuries at the scene of the collision.
Medics transported both the wrong-way driver, identified as 50-year-old Michael Majewski, as well as the driver of the 2016 Altima to an area hospital with critical injuries.
Three other passengers from the 2016 Altima also required hospitalization for injuries sustained in the accident.
It’s not yet clear if Majewski will face charges in connection to the crash.
A full investigation is underway.
