Jose Medina Soto, 59, IDed as victim of street-racing crash

DALLAS, TX – A man 59-year-old man died, and three people sustained injuries Sunday in a collision caused by an illegal street race in southeast Dallas, reports Fox 4 News.

The head-on crash occurred shortly before 8 p.m. on South Second Avenue between Garden Lane and Vannerson Drive, which is south of TX-352 and east of Watermark Community Church.

Police say that the driver of a blue Ford Fusion, since identified as 31-year-old Kadishjah Jackson, lost control of her vehicle while racing a black 2006 Cadillac STS. The Fusion veered into oncoming traffic and collided head-on into a pickup truck, causing the pickup to overturn.

Jackson and her two passengers became entrapped in the Fusion and required hospitalization for serious injuries.

The driver of the pickup truck, identified as Jose Ambrocio Medina Soto succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident.

Authorities have arrested Jackson on multiple charges, including manslaughter, illegal racing, and aggravated assault.

Officials are searching for a black Cadillac with a yellow pin stripe and a license plate reads “RWF 3633”.

The investigation is ongoing.
