Cody Brooks, Jeremiah Rodriguez-White killed in collision

HUTCHINSON CO., TX – Two men died, and one sustained injuries Monday in a two-vehicle collision along the highway in Hutchinson County, reports News Channel 10.

Emergency crews responded to a hydroplane crash along TX-136 near Stinnett shortly before 4:30 p.m. Stinnett is about an hour northeast of Amarillo.

Police say that the driver of a northbound 2025 GMC 2500 lost traction while speeding during a thunderstorm. The vehicle spun into the path of a southbound 2000 Ford Windstar, and the two vehicles collided.

The driver of the Ford, identified as 37-year-old Cody Brooks, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

A passenger in the Ford, identified as 42-year-old Jeremiah Rodriguez-White, died after transport to an area hospital.

Medics transported the driver of the GMC, identified as 43-year-old Chad Clift, to an area hospital with non-critical injuries.

A full investigation is underway.
