Wrong-way driver arrested in crash that killed Karina Ramirez

SAN ANTONIO, TX – A 28-year-old woman died, and two children were hurt last Tuesday in a wrong-way collision caused by a drunk driver in northeast San Antonio.

According to KSAT, the accident happened around 9:30 p.m. on Harry Wurzbach Road between Eisenhauer Road and Urban Crest Drive in the Oakwell Farms neighborhood.

Police say that 45-year-old Colin McGuane was intoxicated when his southbound vehicle entered the northbound side of Harry Wurzbach Road and collided head-on with a northbound vehicle.

The driver of the northbound vehicle, identified as Karina Ramirez, succumbed to her injuries after transport to an area hospital.

Medics transported two children from Ramirez’s vehicle to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

McGuane sustained minor injuries in the crash. He was arrested on charges that include intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault.

The investigation is ongoing.
