Wrong-way crash at TX-338 and US-385 claims Raymund Rodriguez

ECTOR CO., TX – A 45-year-old man was fatally injured last Friday in a two-vehicle collision involving a semi-truck in northeast Ector County.

According to NewsWest9, the crash occurred in the morning just north of Odessa at the intersection of Loop 338 and US-385. This is just northwest of Lawndale Park.

Police say that an eastbound 2023 Chevrolet Equinox entered the westbound side of Loop 338 and collided head-on with a westbound Freightliner Cascade 18-wheeler.

The wrong-way driver, identified as Raymund Rodriguez of Odessa, succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash.

The truck driver, who has not been identified publicly, did not sustain injuries in the accident.

There’s no word yet regarding what may have caused Rodriguez to drive onto the wrong side of the highway.

A full investigation is underway.
