Amanda Davis, 37, killed after hitting parked car on 58th St

LUBBOCK, TX – One person died, and another sustained injuries Tuesday in a two-vehicle collision along a major roadway in southwest Lubbock, reports everythingLubbock.

The accident occurred shortly after 11 a.m. on 58th Street near Memphis Avenue, which is just northeast of Evans Middle School in the Melonie Park neighborhood.

The preliminary investigation indicates that 37-year-old Amanda Davis was headed eastbound when her car rear-ended a parked car on 58th Street.

Davis succumbed to her injuries after transport to Covenant Medical Center.

A passenger in Davis’s vehicle sustained minor injuries; it’s unclear if they required hospitalization.

Traffic along 58th Street likely slowed late Tuesday morning while emergency teams assisted the victims and worked to clear the scene.
