Cross Roads collision involving ambulance kills Dontarianna Boyd

CROSS ROADS, TX – A 23-year-old woman sustained fatal injuries Wednesday in a two-vehicle collision involving an ambulance in east-central Denton County.

According to NBC DFW 5, the accident occurred in the morning at Fishtrap Road and FM 424 in the city of Cross Roads, which is south of Aubrey and about 45 miles northwest of Dallas.

Police say that a passenger vehicle carrying at least three people collided with an Aubrey Fire Department ambulance as the latter vehicle was headed west towards US-377. The sirens and lights on the ambulance were active at the time of the crash.

The driver of the car, identified as Dontarianna Neria Zatrice Boyd, died after transport to an area hospital.

Medics transported two passengers from the car to the hospital with non-critical injuries.

The occupants of the ambulance were not hurt in the accident.

A full investigation is underway.
