Bobby Carr, 65, IDed as Austin cyclist killed in May hit-and-run

AUSTIN, TX – A 65-year-old man sustained fatal injuries last last month in a hit-and-run collision involving an SUV and a bicycle in South Austin, reports KVUE.

The accident happened shortly before noon on South Congress Avenue near the intersection with West Ben White Boulevard, which is just southwest of St. Edward’s University.

Police say that a 2024 black Ford Bronco struck the cyclist from behind before fleeing the scene.

Medics transported the victim, identified as Bobby Wayne Carr, to an area hospital with critical head injuries. Carr succumbed to his injuries several days later.

Authorities are looking for a black Ford Bronco with likely damage to the right front side, including a missing fender. Police haven’t yet shared any information about the alleged driver of the vehicle.
