Claudia Porter, 72, killed in Austin pedestrian crash on Hancock Dr

AUSTIN, TX – Austin Police have released the name of a woman who was fatally injured last Friday in an auto-pedestrian crash in north-central Austin, reports Fox 7 Austin.

The incident occurred around 7:45 a.m. along Hancock Drive near the intersection with Bull Creek Road, which is near Austin Memorial Park Cemetery in the Allandale area.

Officials haven’t yet disclosed the circumstances of the crash. It’s unclear if the pedestrian was walking in a designated crosswalk when the car hit her.

The 72-year-old pedestrian, later identified as Claudia Gale Porter, succumbed to her injuries after transport to an area hospital.

The driver involved in the accident did not exhibit signs of impairment and did stop to render aid and speak with police.

Motorists likely encountered rush hour delays along Hancock Drive Friday morning while emergency crews worked at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
