Rear-end crash in SE Early critically injures Mylee Guthrie, 18

EARLY, TX – An 18-year-old woman sustained serious injuries Wednesday in a rear-end collision along Garmon Drive in central Brown County, reports KCENTV 6.

The two-vehicle accident happened shortly after 7:30 a.m. on Garmon Drive near Live Oak Road on the southeast side of Early. This is about 136 miles southwest of Fort Worth.

Police say that a 2013 Ford Edge SUV did not slow down for a truck that was preparing to turn right from Garmon Drive into a work site and ultimately rear-ended the truck. Officials haven’t yet clarified whether the truck driver activated his turn signal prior to the collision.

Medics airlifted the driver of the Ford, identified as Mylee Guthrie of Goldthwaite, to a Fort Worth hospital with critical injuries.

The driver of the truck did not sustain injuries in the collision.

A full investigation is underway to further clarify the circumstances of the crash.
