SLPD names Ibrahim Mohammed as victim of street-racing crash
SUGAR LAND, TX – A major crash connected to a street-racing incident fatally injured an innocent driver last Saturday in the southwest suburbs of Houston, reports abc 13 News.
The two-vehicle accident occurred shortly after 9:30 p.m. along TX-6 near Voss Road, which is west of Kempner High School on the northwest side of Sugar Land.
The investigation indicates that a BMW and a Ford Mustang were engaging in an illegal street race on the highway when the Mustang struck a Toyota Camry.
The driver of the Camry, identified as 32-year-old Ibrahim Mohammed, died at the scene of the crash.
Medics transported the driver of the Mustang, identified as 20-year-old Roman Pollock, and two passengers to an area hospital with injuries of unknown severity.
The driver of the BMW, later identified as 26-year-old Kamran Kamran, fled the scene of the accident. Authorities located and arrested Kamran three days later at his workplace.
Both Kamran and Mohammed face manslaughter charges. Kamran faces an additional hit-and-run charge.
The investigation is ongoing.
