Nickolus Lucero, 36, killed in El Paso motorcycle collision

EL PASO, TX – A 36-year-old motorcyclist sustained fatal injuries Sunday in a two-vehicle collision at a busy intersection in northeast El Paso, reports KVIA 7.

The accident occurred shortly after 1 a.m. at the intersection of Montana Avenue and McRae Boulevard, which is just south of El Paso International Airport.

Police say that an eastbound motorcycle struck the rear of a car when the latter vehicle turned from a parking lot onto eastbound Montana.

The biker, identified as Nickolus Lucero, died after transport to an area hospital.

At least one other person sustained injuries in the collision but declined hospitalization. It’s unclear if this person was a passenger on the motorcycle or an occupant of the passenger vehicle.

Officials closed the eastbound side of Montana Avenue while emergency teams attended to the victims and worked to clear the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
