Kevin Jackson IDed as motorcyclist killed in ejection crash on I-40
AMARILLO, TX – A 51 -year-old man sustained fatal injuries Monday morning in a motorcycle accident along the interstate in southwest Potter County, reports abc 7 News.
The single-vehicle accident occurred shortly before 7:30 a.m. on the eastbound side of I-40 just past Hope Road in the western outskirts of Amarillo.
Police say that for unknown reasons, a Florida motorcycle operator lost control of his bike, drove onto the median, and crashed into the cable barrier. The impact of the collision threw the man from his bike and into the roadway.
Authorities pronounced Kevin Jackson deceased at the scene of the crash.
There were no passengers on the motorcycle at the time of the accident.
Drivers likely faced delays along I-40 in west Amarillo Monday morning while emergency crews worked at the scene.
