Houston solo crash kills Armondo Fernandez, Breisha McGowan
HOUSTON, TX – A man and a woman sustained fatal injuries over the Fourth of July weekend in a single-vehicle accident along the Katy Freeway, reports My Texas Daily.
Emergency teams responded to southbound service road near the intersection with the Sam Houston Tollway in northwest Houston shortly before 2:30 a.m. on Saturday. This is just northeast of the Lakeside Country Club.
Police say that for unknown reasons, the driver of a silver Honda Accord lost control of the vehicle after hitting a curb and ultimately collided with a concrete barrier.
The driver, identified as 26-year-old Armondo Fernandez, succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash.
The passenger, identified as 29-year-old Breisha McGowan, died after transport to an area hospital.
There’s no word yet regarding the condition of the driver at the time of the accident.
Drivers likely faced closures along the southbound service road of the Katy Freeway while crews worked to clear the scene.
