Melissa Campanella IDed as first victim in Dallas train crash

DALLAS, TX – A 50-year-old woman and one other adult died Wednesday morning in a collision involving a train and a car in the Love Field area of Dallas, reports Fox 4 News.

The incident occurred around 9:30 a.m. along the tracks near Medical/Market Center. This is just south of UT Southwestern Medical Center and between the Stemmons Freeway and Harry Hines Boulevard.

Police haven’t yet disclosed the cause of the accident. Photos taken at the scene depict a silver or gray sedan with unrecoverable damage.

Two occupants from the car sustained fatal injuries. Authorities identified one of the victims as Melissa Rose Campanella. They’ve not yet released the name of the second person claimed in the crash.

Officials halted DART train operations for around four hours while emergency teams worked at the scene.

A full investigation is underway.
