Passenger vehicle, semi collide near Centerville, injuring 1
LEON CO., TX – One person sustained injuries early Tuesday evening in a two-vehicle accident along the interstate in south-central Leon County, reports Fox 44 News.
Shortly after 5:30 p.m., emergency crews responded to a semi crash along the southbound side of I-45 near mile marker 160. This is just south of Centerville and about 83 miles southeast of Waco.
Police say that for unknown reasons, a passenger vehicle and an 18-wheeler collided along the interstate. There’s no word yet regarding the cause of the crash or the manner in which the two vehicles impacted.
Medics worked to extricate the entrapped driver of the passenger vehicle. The patient was then airlifted to an area hospital with unknown injuries.
Authorities haven’t referenced any other injuries in connection to the collision.
Officials asked motorists to avoid this stretch of I-45 Tuesday evening while emergency teams worked at the scene.
