Virma Rider, Borgart Montoua killed in Irving head-on crash
IRVING, TX – A wrong-way collision along the highway in northwest Irving claimed the lives of two drivers Monday morning, reports the Dallas Morning News.
The two-vehicle accident occurred shortly before 3 a.m. on TX-114 near Esters Boulevard, which is just northeast of the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport.
Police say that for unknown reasons, the driver of a westbound vehicle entered the eastbound side of the highway and collided head-on with and eastbound vehicle.
Both drivers died from injuries sustained in the accident. Authorities identified the victims as 24-year-old Borgart Montoua and 59-year-old Virma Rider.
Montoua has been identified as the wrong-way driver.
Officials closed the eastbound side of TX-114 in the area of the crash while emergency crews gathered evidence and worked to clear the scene.
A full investigation is underway.
