Colton Griffin IDed as victim in Killeen motorcycle collision
KILLEEN, TX – A two-vehicle crash that happened Tuesday afternoon in west Killeen claimed the life of a motorcyclist, reports KCENTV 6.
Emergency crews responded to a major accident along Clear Creek Road near Watercrest Road just before 2:30 p.m. This is south of I-14 and north of Shoemaker High School.
Police say that a northbound Yamaha motorcycle struck a southbound Jeep when the driver of the latter vehicle initiated a left turn into a parking lot.
The impact of the crash ejected the motorcyclist, killing him at the scene. Authorities identified the victim as 23-year-old Colton Griffin.
Three people in the Jeep sustained non-critical injuries. It’s unclear if they required hospitalization.
Officials say that Griffin may have been speeding when the crash occurred.
A full investigation is underway.
