FWPD investigates head-on collision that claimed Daniel Patton

FORT WORTH, TX – A 34-year-old truck driver sustained fatal injuries Wednesday night in a wrong-way crash along a major roadway in northwest Fort Worth.

According to Fox 4 KDFW and WFAA News 8, the accident happened just before 8:30 p.m. along Hodgkins Road between Lawrence Lake Road and Lakeside Drive in the Lake Worth area.

Police say that for unknown reasons, a truck driver entered the wrong side of Hodgkins Road and collided head-on with a passenger vehicle carrying at least two people.

A woman and a child from the passenger vehicle were hospitalized with non-critical injuries.

The truck driver, since identified as Daniel Ray Patton, succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the collision.

The accident likely caused substantial delays along Hodgkins Road in the Lake Worth area Wednesday night while emergency crews assisted the victims and worked to clear the scene.

A full investigation is underway.
