Genaro Rocha-Hernandez IDed as victim in Odessa T-bone crash

ODESSA, TX – A 43-year-old man died Wednesday night in a T-bone collision along the highway in southeast Ector County, reports YourBasin.

Around 9:30 p.m., emergency crews responded to the intersection of US-385 and West Apple Street in the southern outskirts of Odessa.

Police say that the driver of a southbound 2024 GMC Sierra failed to heed a red light and T-boned an eastbound 2021 Ford F-250.

The unrestrained driver of the GMC Sierra succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash. Authorities identified him as Genaro Rocha-Hernandez.

Medics transported a 25-year-old passenger to an area hospital with non-critical injuries.

The driver of the Ford did not require hospitalization.

The collision likely created delays along US-385 at Apple while emergency teams gathered evidence and worked at the scene.

A full investigation is underway.
