Maria Tinoco claimed in Llano Co. wrong-way collision

LLANO CO., TX – A woman sustained fatal injuries last Sunday in a wrong-way crash involving three vehicles in east-central Llano County, reports Daily Trib.

The collision occurred along TX-71 near the intersection with County Road 306, which is between Llano and Kingsland and about 70 miles northwest of Austin.

Police say that for unknown reasons, a westbound Dodge pickup truck entered the eastbound side of TX-71 and collided head-on with an eastbound Hyundai Santa Fe. The Dodge also struck a second Hyundai Santa Fe.

The driver of the Santa Fe involved in the wrong-way collision died at the scene. Authorities identified her as Maria Tinoco.

It’s unclear if anyone else sustained injuries in the accident.

Drivers likely faced delays along TX-71 in the area of the crash last Sunday while emergency crews worked at the scene.

A full investigation is underway.
